While working on a pipeline job near Spirit River for Tourmaline Oil Corporation in 2013. Our crew uncovered a massive dinosaur fossil.
At OTEC we pride ourselves in protecting our environment and finding a fossil we halted the project so local paleontologists and experts could remove the fossil properly to preserve its historic value.
In the Daily Hearld Tribune is was stated, “I think what’s really the most significant thing about the story is that this pipeline company [On The Edge Contracting] that encountered this animal contacted the appropriate authorities and were a good, corporate responsible company by doing what is not only required, but what they should do,” said Andy Neuman, executive director of the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller.
